We've been perfecting our mead for a good decade. We've studied books, consulted with experts, honestly checked it and tasted it even more honestly. The result is excellent mead, which we're rightly proud of. And Milan Pleva honestly checks each batch to ensure that its excellent properties and good name are preserved. Each batch of mead tastes different, as its properties depend on the honey we used in its production. We let Potštejnska mead mature for at least a year and a half, which makes its taste even better.
Honest mead from flower honey
Potštejnská mead is the very first mead we started producing. It is made from flower honey using special yeast. We do not use heat treatment during production in order to preserve the important substances of bee honey. Some batches may contain sediment, but this is a natural property of mead and does not affect its taste or quality. The taste of mead depends on the quality of the honey used, because all flavors and dyes are strictly prohibited in the production of our mead.

How did mead actually come about?
And who had that brilliant idea? Nature itself - in times of greatest drought, bees occupied holes in baobab trees, and when heavy rains came, the honey mixed with water and natural yeast. The mixture then fermented, creating the world's first yeast (and alcoholic) beverage - mead, which was later discovered and loved by man.
