Perga pollen is a pollen that has already been processed by bees. The bees process it in the hive by layering the pollen into cells and stomping them with their heads. They put honey and secretions from their glands between the individual layers. Lactic acid fermentation occurs in the pollen treated in this way - the pollen ferments, cracks the pollen grain shell and, as a result, its digestibility increases. Literature states up to 50%. This pollen is also called bee bread. It is more difficult to obtain and therefore more expensive than bee pollen.

What does bee pollen taste like?

The taste of bee pollen can be very diverse, as well as its color, depending on the type of flower it comes from. In general, the taste of pollen could be described as slightly sweet with floral notes, sometimes with a more or less bitter touch, sometimes with a subtle hint of honey. To some, it may slightly remind them of the taste of hay. Fermentation causes pollen to lose its color and its taste to change, which is richer, may acquire a subtle hint of acidity and also becomes easier for us to digest.

Why is bee pollen not recommended for cancer?

Because it has not yet been proven how pollen affects cancer growth. There are two opposing groups of opinions on the appropriateness of using pollen for cancer - one claims that it does not matter and the other that pollen promotes cancer growth. Caution is never enough and, for example, pollen is really unsuitable for prostate or kidney cancer.
