Almonds are the kernels of the fruit of the almond tree, which is closely related to the peach and apricot. They are a type of nut, just like hazelnuts or walnuts. The largest producers of almonds are the United States (especially California), Australia and Europe.  

Almonds probably originated in Western Asia, from where they spread throughout the world. 

Peeled almonds do not contain a bitter skin, which is why they are better digestible.

  4. Almond butter: Blend the almonds in a powerful blender until smooth. You can add natural sweeteners and a pinch of salt for flavor.

  5. Baking: Use ground almonds as part of baking dough in a variety of recipes.

  6. Flavoring foods: Running out of inspiration on how to flavor your dishes? Reach for the almonds. It goes well with both sweet and savory dishes.

  7. Amla: Blend almonds with argan oil, honey, and a pinch of salt for a delicious Moroccan spread!
