Pecan nuts are the seeds of a very tall and powerful pecan tree, which begins to bear fruit only 20 years after planting, and throughout its 300-year life. It is native to North America, where it is widespread in the Mississippi River basin and adjacent river areas.
Pecan nuts are similar to walnuts, but have a milder and sweeter taste. In addition, they are high in fiber and, compared to other nuts, low in carbohydrates (approximately 4 g/100 g).
The uses of pecan nuts are very wide:
