Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a radish- or turnip-shaped root plant that grows exclusively in the South American Andes in Peru and Bolivia. It is one of the few plants that can survive in these inhospitable high-altitude conditions.
Yellow maca differs from others in color, taste, aroma, and some properties. It boasts a very specific creamy and sweet taste and is suitable for women during menopause.
