Vitamin A in natural form
Vitamin A is key to the immune system and eye health, especially for development retina, which is important for light processing. Beta-carotene, the natural form of vitamin A, is safer for the body than synthetic retinol because it prevents the risk of toxicity. The body only produces as much retinol from beta-carotene as it actually needs.
Iodine from organic seaweed!
Iodine contributes tonormal cognitive functions, energy metabolism, nervous system function, maintenance of normal skin condition andproduction of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4), which regulate metabolism, energy expenditure and many other body functions. The combination of iodine and vitamin D thus synergistically supports overall health.
- Iodine contributes to normal cognitive functions.
- Iodine contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
- Iodine contributes to the normal function of the nervous system.
- Iodine contributes to the maintenance of normal skin condition.
- Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and the normal function of the thyroid gland.
Quality and stability of vitamin K2
Kappa also conducted a survey of the quality, stability and efficacy of Vitamin K2 in non-mineral supplements, where stability should not be an issue. Half of these non-mineral products with vitamin K2 had quality issues, with a full third of the sample showing no measurable Vitamin K2 content (zero). A fifth of the products measured had vitamin K2 content ranging from 26-75% of the amount declared on the label. Only a quarter of the products measured the amount of vitamin K2 that was on the label.
Why vitamin K2 MK-7 all-trans K2VITAL®DELTA?
Vitamin K2 is a fat-soluble vitamin and is an essential vitamin not only for our bones, but also for our cardiovascular system. Part of vitamin K is produced in our intestines, but only in small amounts. This vitamin is very often deficient. A possible explanation for K2 deficiency is changes in food preservation and storage, which reduce natural fermentation in foods. K2 as MK7 is bioavailable and has the longest half-life of all vitamin K.
- The most absorbable and usable form of vitamin K2 MK-7.
- Patented form of vitamin K2 - K2VITAL®DELTA MK-7.
- Remains in the body for up to 72 hours.
- It is stable and lasts up to 2 years.
- It contributes to proper blood clotting.
- It supports health of bones and teeth.
- Enriched with ORGANIC olive oil containing 2.4% polyphenols.
Vitamin K2 as MK7 all-trans K2VITAL®DELTA
A higher intake of vitamin D3 may be associated with risk calcification of blood vessels, i.e., deposition of calcium in the blood vessel walls. That is why we added vitamin K2 as MK7 to vitamin D3, which helps remove calcium from blood vessels and supports its deposition in bones. This combination represents a synergy of two essential vitamins that are key to overall health. The disadvantage of vitamin K is that it is relatively rapidly excreted from the body. Vitamin K2 in the form of MK7 all-trans is much more stable than other forms. It is characterized by high usability for the body and compared to common forms of vitamin K2, which have a half-life of only 1.5 hours, it remains in the body for up to 72 hours! This means that it has 48x longer half-life. It is made with double encapsulation and is therefore protected during production and especially in the digestive tract.
Population and vitamin D3?
A global survey1 showed that almost half of the population (47.9%) had levels lower than 50 nmol/L, which indicates insufficient vitamin D levels, especially in the colder seasons. 15.7% of people had acute vitamin D deficiency. They had vitamin D levels lower than 30 nmol/L, which indicates significant deficiency. In the Czech Republic, low levels, or significant vitamin D deficiency, affect 30-60% of the population, with vitamin D levels usually lower in older people, children, and people who spend most of their time indoors, out of direct sunlight.
Vitamin D contributes to thenormal function of the immune system
Vitamin D is key for the proper function of the immune system. Its presence is essential for activation of immune cells. In addition, it has an impact on the integrity of the mucous membranes, which are the primary barrier against the entry of pathogens into the body.
The role of vitamin D3 in the body
Vitamin D is essential for many functions in the body and its sufficient intake has a significant impact on overall health.
- Contributes to normal absorption and utilization of calcium: Vitamin D is essential for the regulation of calcium and phosphorus in the body, which are important minerals for maintaining strong bones and teeth.
- Contributes to normal immune system function: Vitamin D plays a key role in the immune system. Its presence is important for activating the body's defense mechanisms that protect against infections and diseases. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a higher risk of respiratory diseases, including tuberculosis and influenza.
- Contributes to normal blood calcium levels
- Contributes to maintaining normal muscle function
- Contributes to maintaining normal teeth
- Involved in the process of cell division
What are the symptoms of deficiency Vitamin D?
Vegan and vegetarians often suffer from a deficiency in vitamin B12, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, iron and zinc. Vitamin D deficiency is particularly problematic because this vitamin is key to bone health and the immune system. Without enough vitamin D, weakened bones and reduced immune response. Sunlight is the main source of vitamin D, but it needs to be supplemented in the winter months or when you don't spend enough time outdoors.
- Bone and muscle problems: One of the most obvious symptoms of vitamin D deficiency is bone pain and muscle weakness.
- Fatigue and weakness
- Mood: Vitamin D affects the production of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which are neurotransmitters important for regulating mood.
- Immunity problems: Vitamin D is crucial for the proper functioning of the immune system. A deficiency can lead to impaired ability of the body to fight pathogens.
What is the optimal dose of vitamin D3?
In 2014, scientists from the University of Edmonton published an article in which they pointed out an error in determining the recommended daily dose of vitamin D. They pointed out that the recommended 600 IU is not enough to cover the needs of a healthy person. The dose should be almost 15 times higher, i.e. 8895 IU per day 2. You can get this dose from sunlight or supplementation. It is advisable to take Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2, because vitamin K2 supports the proper deposition of calcium in the bones and, as a result, calcium does not accumulate in the blood vessels. The State Institute for Drug Control announced that, according to a new scientific opinion, products with a recommended daily dose of up to 4,000 IU (100 μg) of vitamin D will no longer be considered medicinal products.
Vitamin D3 as the most deficient vitamin in vegetarians and vegans
Vitamin D3 is often deficient in vegans and vegetarians because it occurs naturally mainly in animal products such as fish, liver and eggs, which vegans do not consume and vegetarians often in limited quantities.Plant sources contain mainly vitamin D2, which
is not as effective as D3 in increasing and maintaining vitamin D levels in the body.Vitamin D3 is often deficient in vegans and vegetarians because it occurs naturally mainly in animal products such as fish, liver and eggs, which vegans do not consume and vegetarians often in limited quantities.Plant sources contain mainly vitamin D2, whichis not as effective as D3 in increasing and maintaining vitamin D levels in the body. A contributor to vitamin D deficiency is limited exposure of the skin to sunlight during the autumn and winter months, which is necessary for the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin. Why Vegan D3 & K2?
A complete synergy of two essential vitamins that are important for overall health. We can only get vitamin K2 from food, but our body creates vitamin D3 from sunlight in the summer. However, achieving the required daily requirement ispractically impossible in our climate zone. The exception is sunny days in spring and summer, when we can get vitamin D3 from sunlight. Vitamin D3 is synthesized in the skin when exposed to UVB radiation and the body can store it. A few minutes in the sun in the summer, until the skin turns slightly red, can produce 10,000 to 50,000 IU of vitamin D, which is almost 1,000 times more than the recommended daily dose.
Vegan vitamin D3 with a patented form of vitamin K2
BrainMax Vitamin D3 & K2 combines vitamins D3 and K2, two micronutrients that have been extensively researched for their role in bone, dental and immune health. Vitamin D3 supports the absorption of calcium from food and Vitamin K2, like MK7, helps direct calcium into the bones, preventing it from depositing in blood vessels. Vitamin D3 is 100% plant-based and suitable for vegans.
