    Resveratrol is an antioxidant that can be found in the skins and seeds of grapes, blueberries, blackcurrants, or peanuts. BrainMax Resveratrol is extracted from Japanese knotweed.

    Resveratrol is a natural antioxidant that can also be found in red wine, where it is present in concentrations of approximately 1-5 mg per liter, depending on the variety and production process. The recommended amount of resveratrol for potential health benefits is often quoted as being in the range of 100-500 mg per day. Considering the average content of 2.5 mg of resveratrol per liter of wine, we would have to drink between 40 and 200 liters of red wine per day to obtain 100-500 mg of resveratrol. This amount is unrealistic and above all dangerous due to the alcohol content!

    Resveratrol is an antioxidant. More than 70 plant species have been identified as sources of resveratrol, although not all are edible. Resveratrol is also classified as a phytoalexin. Phytoalexins are compounds that plants produce to fight pathogens, such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. When plants sense infection, they produce more phytoalexins to help protect against microbial invaders, but also against the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation.
