Dosage

4 capsules once daily.

Oat beta-glucans

Oat beta-glucans are known for their positive effect on blood cholesterol levels. Oatwell™ Bran Powder contains 22% beta-glucans and soluble fiber, which creates a viscous gel in the digestive tract that traps cholesterol and bile acids, thereby reducing their absorption into the blood.5,6

Garlic extract

Garlic extract is known for its positive effects on optimal cholesterol levels and overall heart and vascular health. In addition, garlic extract has antioxidant properties.1,2

Red yeast rice and Bergamot extract = natural substances proven by studies

Red yeast rice is produced by fermenting rice with the yeast Monascus purpureus, which contains monacolin K. We have also included bergamot extract,  which is rich in flavonoids  and polyphenols.

Sugar cane phytosterols

Phytosterols are plant sterols that are found in the cell membranes of plants. They are structurally similar to cholesterol and contribute to maintaining normal cholesterol levels.

How to lower cholesterol?

  • 1. Increase fiber intake: fiber-rich foods such as oatmeal, legumes, fruits and vegetables.
  • 2. Consuming healthy fats: Include healthy fats in your diet, such as avocado, olive oil, fish, and nuts.
  • 3. Regular exercise: Exercise, such as walking, swimming, or cycling, helps increase HDL cholesterol and improves overall cardiovascular health.
  • 4. Reduce trans fat intake: Avoid foods containing partially hydrogenated oils, which are the main source of trans fats.
  • 5. Consume omega-3 fatty acids: Foods such as salmon, sardines, walnuts, fish oils, and seaweed oils contain omega-3 fatty acids.
  • 6. By maintaining your optimal body weight.

What happens when we have optimal cholesterol levels?

When we have optimal cholesterol levels, our vessels remain flexible and clean, which ensures free blood flow. LDL cholesterol is kept within normal limits, which prevents it from accumulating on the walls of blood vessels. At the same time, HDL cholesterol helps remove excess cholesterol from the bloodstream and transports it back to the liver for breakdown.

What does a long-term elevated cholesterol level lead to?

Cholesterol is present in our body in the form of fatty acids - lipids, which travel through the bloodstream. These particles do not normally settle in the walls of the arteries, but when the level of inflammation increases, white blood cells begin to accumulate in the vascular wall and, by accumulating cholesterol, form dangerous plaque and restrict blood flow.

Stress and high cholesterol

Cholesterol also increases when we are exposed to chronic stress for a long time. When we are under stress, the hormone cortisol is produced. If we are under such stress every day, it stimulates an increase in cholesterol levels. This is a natural mechanism of the body, because the body needs more cholesterol to produce cortisol.

What causes high cholesterol?

High cholesterol is often caused by an unhealthy diet, especially excessive intake of saturated and trans fats, which increase LDL cholesterol levels. A sedentary lifestyle, obesity, genetic factors and lack of regular physical activity  can further contribute to disrupting the balance between LDL and HDL cholesterol.

Why do we need cholesterol?

  • It helps create hormones.
  • It participates in the construction of cells by forming their membranes.
  • It contributes to the synthesis of vitamins, specifically the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin, which plays a role in how the body handles calcium.
  • It helps maintain bone density bones.
  • It is needed for the production of steroid hormones, especially sex hormones.
  • It is important for hormones produced primarily by the adrenal glands, such as cortisol.
  • It allows the body to form bile acids, which are needed to break down fats in the digestive tract so that they can be absorbed into the body.
  • Up to 25% of cholesterolis used by our brain to produce hormones such as is dopamine and serotonin. It is therefore key to our mental health.

HDL and LDL cholesterol

HDL cholesterol, often referred to as "good" cholesterol, transports excess cholesterol from the bloodstream back to the liver, where it is broken down and removed from the body. LDL cholesterol ensures the transport of vital cholesterol to the cells in the body. It is wrongly nicknamed "bad cholesterol" because during transport, due to the poor health of the individual, it can oxidize in the blood vessels and negatively affect cardiovascular health. The best prevention of these problems is to ensure sufficient intake OMEGA-3.

What is cholesterol?

Cholesterol is a waxy substance that our body cannot do without. It is packaged in particles called lipoproteins, which allow it to move in the blood. The liver produces all the cholesterol the body needs and also breaks it down. Cholesterol is essential not only for the proper production of hormones, the health of the circulatory system, and the brain. Its deficiency can be associated with a decrease in cognitive abilities and negatively affect the health of neurons. Optimal blood cholesterol levels BrainMax Cholesterol Support is a special formula containing garlic extract and oat beta-glucans, which naturally help maintain optimal cholesterol levels. 1, 2, 3, 4 In addition, it contains four other plant extracts, the effect of which has been confirmed by studies.
