The Malpighia, known as acerola, is a fruit tree growing in tropical and subtropical regions of the Caribbean and Central and South America. Its fruits resemble cherries and are considered one of the the richest natural sources of vitamin C. 

The reference value for vitamin C intake for an adult is 80 mg. Acerola contains approximately 18,000 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. In one serving (1.5 g), you get 4 times more vitamin C than the recommended daily intake. In addition, natural vitamin C has good absorbability and is better tolerated than synthetic.
